Modernisation of the ‘RGNN’ main low-voltage switchboard at the Południe Heating Plant in Radom under a design-and-build contract
The scope of the contract included:
- preparation of design, detailed-design and as-built documentation for the electrical and instrumentation and control (I&C) disciplines for the main low-voltage switchboard supplying the district heating company from two 1,600 kVA, 15/0.4 kV transformers, including an automatic transfer switching system, communication with the SCADA visualisation system and integration with the fire protection system,
- dismantling of the existing two-section 2,500 A switchboard with a bus-coupler panel, automatic transfer switching system and forty-eight (2 × 24) outgoing feeder panels, while ensuring normal operation of the live facility, together with dismantling of the busbar bridges,
- prefabrication, delivery and installation of a two-section main switchboard with a bus-coupler panel and automatic transfer switching, fire shutdown functions at LV and MV levels, fault diagnostics, power network analysers and an operator interface; the switchboard was equipped with a programmable logic controller (PLC), redundant 230 VAC and 24 VDC control power supplies, custom control and visualisation software, and telemetry,
- installation of two 3,200 A busbar bridges,
- installation of cable joints and terminations and connection of power cables,
- installation of general, emergency and escape lighting and 400/230 VAC socket outlets,
- construction of a fire protection system,
