Preparation of design and cost-estimate documentation for modernisation of the instrumentation and control systems serving the filters at the Miedary Water Treatment Plant

The assignment comprises the preparation of a detailed design for the power supply and control of electromechanical actuators for the industrial process valves serving the rapid filters at the Miedary Water Treatment Plant. The design covers the electrical and instrumentation and control disciplines and was commissioned by Górnośląskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów Spółka Akcyjna, 19 Wojewódzka Street, 40-026 Katowice, under the contract entitled ‘Preparation of design and cost-estimate documentation for modernisation of the instrumentation and control systems serving the filters at the Miedary Water Treatment Plant’.

The purpose of the assignment is to prepare electrical and instrumentation and control design and detailed-design documentation enabling the power supply and control system for the electromechanical actuators of the industrial process valves serving the rapid filters to be correctly executed. The documentation is based on recognised engineering practice and on standards and principles that ensure safety and correct operation of the technical infrastructure; it also supports obtaining the administrative decisions required by law as the basis for implementing the project.

In accordance with the Client’s commission, the scope includes the preparation of:

1. discipline-specific detailed design documentation,
2. technical specifications for the execution and acceptance of the works,
3. a bill of quantities,
4. the Client’s cost estimate.

The principal subject of the design is the modernisation of the electrical and automation installations serving the rapid filters, specifically the power supply and control of electromechanical actuators for industrial valves.
